Fear (A to Z Challenge)

Face the Fear

She wore the darkness within,
and it saw everything with blindfolds.
Hitched to the tinted thoughts,
onto the meandering paths of life.

Her palpitating heart, drips the salts that
bowl down the barren cheeks,
She felt the freefalls in her tummy,
At the thought of loosing something unknown!

She contemplated over cynical thoughts,
making her anticipation count as fears.
With unconfined and unknown consequences,
of failure or success.

She searched her way out,
through the dark tunnels.
Hiding under the cloak,
to feel lost.

But the fireflies of her heart,
Lit up the night,
With the brightness of her soul!
And yelped with triumph,
“I defeated fear”

Yet, I wondered what if she succumbed to fear?

Apologies to have skipped 3 posts of the A to Z challenge due to job demands and travelling. One thing that is agreed and accepted upon, its extremely difficult to charge up my word press with a daily post. :P. Utilising the “Sunday” for jolting the missing links of the challenge :).

Regards,
PratZ

  1. I LOVE this Pratyusha!! I really liked:

    “She contemplated over cynical thoughts,
making her anticipation count as fears.
    With unconfined and unknown consequences,
    of failure or success.”

This is so true, anticipation is often worse than reality 😉

  2. I’m more acquainted with optimistic anticipation which is part of any event for me. I guess if it was fearful it would be not good at all. Hope you’re not going to fearfully anticipate missing challenge posts. It’s all about doing what you can to connect and have fun. 🙂 @DietzShirley from I Just Have to Say

  3. This says it all when it comes to defeating fear:
But the fireflies of her heart,
    Lit up the night,
With the brightness of her soul!
    And yelped with triumph,
    “I defeated fear”
